In this project, our team completed the assembly and installation of a built-in IKEA METOD kitchen in a private villa in Halmstad. The client ordered a kitchen with a complex configuration, integrated appliances, and profile LED strip lighting. Our goal was to assemble it quickly with perfect drawer front alignment and plumbing/electrical hookups.
IKEA Assembly Details
The main challenge was the uneven walls (the corner was 91.5 degrees instead of 90), which required custom cuts of filler pieces and side panels. We also had to make precision cutouts for the sink and cooktop in the quartz countertop and route hidden wiring for the workspace LED lights.
Solutions & Steps
The assembly was performed strictly in line with Swedish building codes and IKEA manual blueprints:
- Wall leveling and installation of suspension rails using a laser level.
- Assembling METOD cabinets and securing them to the walls and to each other.
- Precision cutting and mounting of the quartz countertop with sealed joints.
- Undermounting the sink and connecting the faucet and siphon.
- Installing the built-in refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, and range hood.
- Integrating LED profile workspace lighting with motion sensors.
- Hanging fronts, installing handles, and fine-tuning hinges and soft-closers.

The kitchen was delivered to the client fully ready for use:
